Tenants of Bradford’s largest social landlord are being invited to celebrate the district’s best in a new competition.

Incommunities’ 1st Choice awards will highlight the ways in which people are making a difference by brightening up their homes, gardens and communities.

There are ten categories, making the competition wider than the Home & Gar-den show awards it replaces.

They are: best individual garden; best community garden; balcony/display; best room makeover; green hero; community centre; community fundraiser; best neighbour; local hero (for outstanding bravery or overcome adversity); and Incommunities employee or team.

Entrants in the first four categories should send a photo of the entry with their name, address and telephone number to FREEPOST Incommunities. Digital photos can be sent to 1stchoice @incommunities.co.uk. Nominations are invited for the other categories. The closing date is Friday, August 10.

Winners will be announced at Bradford’s Midland Hotel on Friday, October 1, where guests will include Falklands hero Simon Weston and gardening expert Joe Maiden.
