Pupils at Fagley Primary School got stuck in to keeping the streets around their school tidy ahead of a celebration of their eco-warriors project.
The children have been helping to clear the area for two months, along with their parents and Bradford Council staff. They have learned about environmental issues and adopted a snicket close to the school where they have been carrying out litter picks.
They also took part in a poster design competition, and the six winning entrants have received their prizes. The posters will now be printed and displayed in the village to encourage others to follow their lead. Councillor Ghazanfer Khaliq, the Council’s executive member for environment and sustainability, said: “It’s great to see parents and children working together with neighbourhood service staff to identify areas which most need improvement and helping to clean them up.”
