The company behind the regeneration of a once-derelict Bradford mill has reached a significant landmark as it continues to grow its business.
Urban Splash, which has transformed Lister Mills in Manningham, has reached the two million square foot mark in its commercial property portfolio.
The company’s commercial space includes offices, studios, restaurants, bars, industrial space and retail units spread right across the country from Manchester down to Plymouth, from Liverpool across to Bradford.
In the last year, the Manchester-based company has let more than 80,000 sq ft of space across the country.
That figure includes 3,865 sq ft let to Bowling College, which plans to open a centre for English Speakers of Other Languages in the Velvet Mill building at Lister Mills.
According to the latest count, Urban Splash now lets space to more than 300 organisations.
A spokesman for Urban Splash said: “We’ve helped hundreds of companies to start up by providing incubator space but we’re also home to bigger organisations – PLCs such as Ford Retail, Travelodge and Regus, all of whom have offices at Fort Dunlop, as well as Government organisations like the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, the Secretary of State for Defence and Liverpool Primary Care Trust.”
The Lister Mills development in Manningham is regarded as a good example of the dynamic mix of tenants attracted to Urban Splash’s developments.
The mills are currently home to the Mind The Gap theatre group, Manningham Community Centre and the new Bowling College centre.
