Colin Todd has dismissed fears of another spat with man-of-the-moment Phil Parkinson.

Todd clashed angrily with the Colchester boss at Valley Parade in September, condemning his side's negative away tactics for "killing" the game.

Parkinson hit back after the 1-1 draw by accusing Todd of "sour grapes".

But the City chief does not anticipate another nasty episode when the pair come face to face again at Layer Road on Saturday.

He said: "As far as I'm

concerned, this is a new day and new occasion. What

happened last time is certainly not going to be on my mind this weekend.

"I'll just be focused on

getting the players to go out there and perform to their best against a side who have been in fantastic form. Colchester have been enjoying all the hype and it would be good to be the team who can end that."

Second-placed Colchester have won eight games on the trot and are still buzzing after reaching the FA Cup fifth round.

Todd expects midfielder Steve Schumacher to rejoin the City squad after missing the last four games with an ankle injury.

He said: "Schuey has had no problems with ligaments, it's been a sprain. Four weeks should be maximum for a player to be out for an injury like that. I'm looking for him to be fit and available for Saturday."

Michael Symes, who joined City from Everton alongside Schumacher 18 months go, has been urged to make the most of his month's loan spell with Stockport.

Todd said: "Hopefully it can lend itself to a longer time there or at another club."
