Defending Premier Division champions Albion Sports knocked West Bowling off the top of the table with a great comeback.

Down at the break to goals from Bowling's March Hodgson and Darrell Leach, Albion hit back in style through Jason Ryan, Gareth Carney and Pav Singh.

The victory ended their recent slump which had seen three successive cup exits by 3-2 margins.

After a goalless first half, there was a five-goal feast at Avenue Road where Fairweather, who were in front three times, beat unlucky Oakenshaw 3-2. John Penn's second goal proved to be the winner.

With their Cup involvement having seen them play only ten league games, third-from-bottom Bolton Woods welcomed three points with a 2-0 win at the expense of Crown.

Woods led through Andy Carlton before Andy Howland continued his incredible scoring run with his side's second after 65 minutes.

In a game in which both sides were plagued by injuries, Holme Wood Athletic's 3-0 win over Queensbury had pleasing performances from second-team regulars Ian Russell, who scored on his Premier debut, and Arthur Mountain.

It's tight at the top of Division One and in the big game at Crag Road, second-placed Bradford Park Avenue Rangers kept their 100 per cent record after a 5-3 win over fourth-placed Ring of Bells Shipley.

Brent Netzler and Adam Jones scored twice in a game in which Bells had their keeper sent off at 1-1 in the middle of the first half.

Leaders Silsden, with a County Cup quarter-final coming up on Sunday, enjoyed a 4-1 victory over Buttershaw White Star. Dale Hoyle scored twice.

It's back to the drawing board for bottom club Westwood. After their mini-revival, Westwood were beaten 2-0 by fellow relegation-threatened Eastward whose goals came from Brian Carr and Micky Adams.

Dudley Hill Rangers repeated the previous Sunday's 2-0 win in the return with Victoria Rangers. Leading scorer Jamie McEwan put Rangers in front after 25 minutes and Danny Pearson, with a shot from 45 yards in the second half, clinched the game in which keeper Dave Gill was outstanding for Dudley Hill.

In Division 1A, Eccleshill United lost their unbeaten home record to Hudsons.

In front early on through Kai Fawcett, the same player added a second after the interval before brother Paul came off the substitute's bench to put Hudsons out of sight with a third goal. Eccleshill added a late consolation with a Ben Hardy penalty.

Bishop Rovers staged a second-half comeback with a winner from Tabrez Akhtar at White Horse, who had led 2-1 at half-time through Lee Taylor and Jamie Hepworth.

Ventus Sports stayed three points and two goals behind after a hard encounter with Clayton Orient.

Ventus had beaten Orient 6-1 a couple of weeks ago but this game was tougher.

A lucky rebound saw Adam O'Neil give Ventus a first-half lead before a Mark Reynolds penalty and an Andy Town effort clinched it at 3-0 later in the second half.

Once up with the leaders, Baildon Trinity lost further ground when beaten 2-0 by Oddfellows Athletic. Both goals came in the second half through Paul Taylor.

Quarry gained only their second point of the season after Dave Watt found a 60th-minute equaliser against Queensbury Seconds who had led through a keeper spill after five minutes.

A last-minute goal from Gary Thompson saw George Hotel come through 3-2 against QCs.

In Division 1B, Alec Cussack, proving a good signing after his move from Eccleshill, hit four as Ventus United completed another big win, this time 8-1 against luckless Saltaire Rangers.

Andy Mottram hit a hat-trick for Royal Clayton, whose 5-1 win at Waggoners condemned the bottom club to their 13th defeat from 14.

White Eagles, with defensive pairing Zulfiqar Ahmed and David Booth outstanding, were 2-0 winners at Dudley Hill Rangers Reserves - a result that takes Eagles out of the bottom two.

While Albion Sports Reserves made it through to the quarter-finals of the Intermediate Cup with a 4-2 win over Woodman Albion, Crown Wyke and Wrose Bull contested a quarter-final.

Crown, with a 100 per cent in the league, looked to have blown a double chance until a last-minute equaliser from Jordan Missin sent the tie into extra-time.

Bull hit the post twice before Crown found a winner.
