It was definitely a week that will be remembered for the Clayborn outfit.
They claimed a 3-2 win at Brodsworth, who finished with eight men after a last- minute flare-up, and followed up with their biggest win of the season to stay second in the Northern Counties East Premier Division table.
It was also a big week for midfielder Chris Walton. The former captain was involved in both games and also in a trial for Bradford City.
He played in the 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United at Valley Parade just hours before helping Sedge to their 8-2 win at home to Shirebrook Town.
"It went very well for him, I watched the game against Sheffield and Chris didn't look out of place," said Sedge boss Eugene Lacy.
Walton was one of two Farsley Celtic Academy products in a young Bantams starting line-up. Teenage forward Nick Smith has been having extended trials with City since before the turn of the year. "City have asked to have another look at Chris and I think that is the least he deserves. It was a strong Sheffield United team - Brian Deane up front and Neil Montgomery and Garry Flitcroft in central midfield.
"Walton was in direct competition with them and he looked comfortable considering he had never played with anyone on the field. City reserves are a very young side and tended to look for a familiar face when they were passing the ball."
