Two new signings landed at Nethermoor in time to play in last week's victory over AFC Telford United - but only one was making his Guiseley debut.

Neil Parsley had hinted that he was chasing two targets when he named the squad for the game but not that one of them was Scott Jackson.

Parsley, who had let centre back Lee Connor go to leaders North Ferriby United, was delighted that the transfers were done without any last- minute hitches. "We weren't sure if everything would go smoothly so we didn't want to announce anything too early," said the manager.

"In the end both Jacko and Andy Quinn played from the start against Telford. They both did all right.

"It has boosted our squad both at the back and up top and I know they will both be very good acquisitions for the club. Jacko was not getting many starts at Farsley Celtic and that is why he decided to come back to us.

"Quinny has not played at this level for over a month, since being released by Bradford Park Avenue.

"Because of that, they both need games and that was obvious in the later stages against Telford.

"Both of them are in full training and not carrying any injuries but they are not match-fit.

"They won't be until they have got an amount of time in the middle under their belts.

"We have two very good, experienced players, and Trevor Storton and myself are looking forward to them getting up to speed.

"Everyone knows all about Jacko - he has only been away a couple of months.

"Quinny is one the fans at this club will take to their hearts very quickly.

"He gives 100 per cent every time he goes out on the pitch."
