Former Bulls captain Jamie Peacock admits he is excited about playing his first game as a Leeds Rhinos player tomorrow against Harlequins at Headingley.

Peacock, who moved from arch-rivals Bradford to his home-town club in the close season, revealed he has previously found it hard to build up for pre-season fixtures.

But the Great Britain skipper has been surprised at how much he is looking forward to making his first appearance for Leeds.

"In the past I have found these friendly games tough to approach mentally because you know things will be changed around by both teams and there are no points at stake," said 28-year-old Peacock.

"But unusually for me I have found myself getting excited about playing on Sunday and can't wait to get out there.

"Pre-season has been really tough but it has been refreshing for me because I am in a new environment, with new team-mates and coaches.

"The nucleus of the squad has been together for a long time but there are a few new faces around which has made it easier for everyone to mix in.

"I'm looking forward to playing in a match with the guys I have been training with for the last month. There are some exciting players and it will be good to be on the same side as them for a change."

Peacock will be getting changed in the home dressing room at Headingley for a change but it will not be a completely new environment for the former Stanningley junior.

"I've got changed in the home dressing room on a couple of occasions with England and Yorkshire so it won't be all that strange," he said.

"There has been a lot of talk about which position I will play but I think I showed at Bradford last year I am pretty versatile.

"I don't care where I am playing as long as I am playing and Sunday is the first chance to put a marker down for selection."
