A family of Cullingworth butchers is having a double celebration after knocking judges for six with its steak and kidney pie.
The Ellisons wowed them with a steak and kidney pie which claimed two gold medals at the North West region contest run by the British Pig Executive.
Judges were impressed by the appearance and taste of the pie, which John Ellison said they had worked hard to perfect.
The pie won not only the steak and kidney category, but also gold in the overall speciality pie section.
"We just keep tweaking the recipe," said John, 34.
"I think a lot of it's down to the beef, which hangs for four weeks before it goes into the pie for extra flavour. It comes from the same farm in Malham."
John said he was the 'meat' man, while brother Brendan, 29, was in charge of perfecting the pastry.
He added that they were especially pleased because it was their first time in the competition, which also saw them claim silver medals for their sausages and bacon.
The family, which trades as Paul Ellison -- the brothers' father -- on Halifax Road, traces its butchery links to grandfather Edgar Feather, who started a business in Haworth.
