Bradford Salem play a derby tomorrow that will help to define their

season in Yorkshire Division One.

The Heaton club, promoted last season and now chasing a play-off berth, are at home to Old Crossleyans.

Second-placed Crocs are six points ahead of fourth-placed Salem so nothing but a victory will do for the hosts.

"They beat us out wide as their place earlier in the season but we have a narrower pitch and we will be stronger than when we met in Halifax in October when Crossleyans won 29-15," said Neil Klenk, the club's match secretary.

"Neither Simon Davies nor Jason France were playing for us that day, and both are key players."

Sheffield Tigers, promoted as champions last season, are again heading the table, but Klenk said: "The difference bet-ween Yorkshire Two and this division is down to on-field organisation. However, we have also improved since last season."

With Mark Brooke out with an injured knee, the experienced Steve McManus, who will help to set-up Salem's defence, returns on the right wing.

Keighley, at home to Pontefract, hope that Matt Gaffney, John Currie and Adam Balderstone all return from injury. Rob Ellis returns to the back row and Leigh Sugden reverts to the second row with Peter Schofield dropping to the bench.

Bradford & Bingley, surprisingly beaten 29-10 at Fylde last week, welcome back South African back-rowers Bloues Volschenk and Barry Jacobsz for their home match against Macclesfield - the only other side to have beaten them this season in National League Three North.

Winger Mark Kirkby faces a late fitness test on his hamstring injury, while the same problem puts Phil Greaves on the bench. Steve Burns is a replacement sfter flu. Nili Tuahalamaka starts at centre.

Cleckheaton, 31-5 winners at Darling-ton Mowden Park last weekend, face another in-form team in Fylde tomorrow at Moorend.

And Cleck feel that their spirit, both on and off the field, can carry them to another victory. "We took a lot of supporters with us to Park and they seem to enjoy the day out and the match rather than expecting us to win," said Alan Bentley. "The fans gave the team great backing, and the team appreciated it."

Otley, whose style is more expansive these days, hope to prove to coach Peter Clegg that they can hang on to a lead in added time. They are at home to Newbury in National League One, with Clegg reminding his charges: "You can accept losing one or two matches a season in injury time but four is careless."

Although full back Ian Shuttleworth is out with a thigh injury, Simon Binns is due to return for the hosts.

After just a few comeback games for the Foresters following his long-term injury, Andy Hodgson returns to Wharfedale's starting line-up on the left wing at home to Moseley in National League Two.

In the pack, injuries to Hedley Verity and Rob Baldwin leaves the back row with an unfamiliar look. Alastair Allen moves to No 8, with the flanks taken by Oliver Renton and Rob Lednor.

Baildon, for whom Nick Murphy and Chris Smithies return, reckon they have the best squad in Yorkshire Division Three when at full strength. They have the chance to prove that as the ninth-placed club host leaders Roundhegians.

Wibsey, unchanged like Baildon, have the chance to climb to fifth in Yorkshire Five North West by winning at Thirsk.
