INTERNET facilities in Barnoldswick have had a major boost with the opening of two new venues.
A cyber caf with five terminals has been opened at Pirates Paradise, on Church Street, to complement an existing computer accessory, repair and upgrades business.
Owner Sean Nutter, who is planning networked gaming nights at the caf with prizes for winners, put the facilities together in just four days after a suggestion from a friend.
He said: "I've been up working on it until 2am some nights, but I think it will be worth it.
"It goes really well with what we offer already and I'm looking forward to getting to know a few new people."
Meanwhile internet sessions for young people are also being held at West Craven High Technology College.
Computers will be available every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm, enabling young people to study or catch up with friends online.
The sessions have been made possible thanks to help and funding from Active Futures, police community beat managers in Barnoldswick and Earby, teachers and support assistants at the school and Nelson-based organisation Wheels Within Wheels.
For further information or to book a session, contact organiser Jackie Taylforth on 07759 647072.
