MENSTON St Mary's schoolboy football star Tom Taiwo is one of three young players Premiership giants Chelsea are said to be casting an eye over.
National newespapers reported at the weekend that Leeds United are steeling thermselves for a fight after Chelsea allegedly 'tapped up' three of the Elland Road club's most promising young stars.
The three include midfielder Taiwo who made his debut for the England U-16 team in the Sky Sports Victory Shield tournament.
After making his England debut against Northern Ireland Tom stepped out for the decider against Scotland at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, and England won 2-1.
Big spending Chelsea are believed to be targetting Leeds United's 16 year-old schoolboy trio of Taiwo, Dan Rose and Michael Woods.
Leeds turned down an official bid for each of the young players last November but Jose Mourinho's club are believed to have since made secret attempts to lure the young players to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have former Leeds United youth coach Gary Worthington among their northern talent scouts.
The three youngstrers are all highly rated England U-16 players and have all been offered a scholarship and a professional contract with Leeds.
Rose has indicated his willingness to pledge his future to Leeds.
Leeds have contacted the Premier League to make them aware of the situation.
Under FA rules United would be entitled to compensation for the players.
Taiwo is a keen sportsman and he was rewarded for his talents at St Mary's by being presented with the Jamie Payne-Ross Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sport by former Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Bradford City and Barnsley soccer star John Hendrie.
