Football fans are to be given a helping hand cheering on England's World Cup heroes this summer with a new course teaching them German.
Bradford College has devised a course to help England fans who are travelling to Germany to watch the World Cup.
The lessons will allow supporters to pick up a basic grasp of the language with a course tailored to spectators of large sporting events.
It has been created by tutor Miguel Montescano, who has previously run sessions teaching Japanese and Greek for fans jetting out to the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea and the 2004 Olympics held in Athens.
The new course will run over four Saturdays and is suitable for complete beginners.
Mr Montescano said: "The course will cater for anybody wanting to learn the basics, even those who have never tried another language before as we will be teaching everything phonetically."
Along with basic German, students will also learn phrases to help them travel around the country using public transport, get directions and buy food and drink in shops and restaurants.
And there will also be sessions teaching pupils football jargon to allow fans to enjoy pre-match banter with supporters from other nations.
Around 100,000 football fans from England are expected to travel to the World Cup this summer, making the team the second highest supported nation in the tournament.
The course will run on Saturday February 11, February 18, March 4, and March 11, from 1pm to 4.30pm in the college's Westbrook Building on Great Horton Road. It will cost £1.50 per hour. For more information contact Mr Montescano on 01274 436149.
