Shipley-based Robinson Architects, have appointed a successor to the late Alan Rae.
Mr Rae died in November last year at the age of 52.
Tony Mobbs assumes responsibility for all five companies: Robinson Architects, Robinson Consulting, Robinson Environmental, Robinson Landscape and Robinson Interiors.
Mr Mobbs said: "I'm delighted to have witnessed the changes within our industry to the more sensible partnering arrangements from an adversarial past.
"Design is crucial to our lives and ensuring sustainable, rational building and architecture is now a recognised fundamental within the Group.
"I look forward to further developing this."
Group chairman James Robinson said: "It was a great shock to us all to lose Alan, but we are delighted to move Tony into the position of our group managing director. Tony has a full understanding of the group vision and I have no doubt he will make a great success of his new role."
Mr Mobbs is a father of two and a passionate rugby fan.
