Dean Windass insists he will not be put off by the transfer talk swirling around him.

Barnsley are tipped to come back with a bumped-up offer after their initial £100,000 bid was rejected last week.

But any uncertainty surrounding his future is clearly not affecting Windass, who curled home a glorious free-kick to beat Yeovil on Saturday.

It was his 14th goal of the season - and second in successive games since being dropped back into midfield.

Windass said: "I've got two more years left on my contract here and whatever the club decide is up to them not me.

"I've had more interest in the last two years than when I was 24 or 25. It's flattering but I just want to play football.

"Bradford have been very good to me. My relationship with Colin Todd, Julian Rhodes, Jim Brown and the players is excellent but it's out of my hands.

"If Barnsley come in with an improved offer, which they probably will after that goal, then I'll take it from there.

"We scrapped out a win although we probably didn't deserve it. But goals change games and I was delighted to see it go in the net."

Todd hopes that the Tykes will take the hint after being rebuffed first time around.

"It's been turned down and as far as I'm concerned that's the end of the story unless the chairman has a hidden agenda," he said.

"But as I said to Julian last week, he is worth a lot more than £100,000 to us.

"The goal last week will have helped him but to stick one in like that free-kick shows a real talent."

City's fifth away win lifted them three spots and backed up Todd's pre-match rally call to kick off a surge up the table.

He added: "Whatever some people might say, those boys are all pulling together. The character and desire has always been there.

"It was a tremendous result and I'd like to say a big thank you to the

supporters.

"I thought they were tremendous to come all that way and they've had their reward with the result."
