A mock employment tribunal is being held to give businesses in the region the chance to gain experience and familiarity with the procedure.
The mock tribunal is being organised by the Engineering and Manufact-uring Industry organisation (EEF) in response to growing fears among business people about how to approach tribunals.
The EEF claims that the increasing complexity of employment tribunals makes the prospect of taking part in one daunting and frightening for many people.
During the mock tribunals, the delegates will get to hear witness evidence and have the chance to cross-examine witnesses themselves.
They will hear submissions by legal representatives for the claimant and the company.
Head of legal affairs at EEF Yorkshire and Humberside, David Hardwick, said: "People who have been through a tribunal often comment to me that they never wish to go through it again.
"They may not have a choice, but at least we can help to make the experience as unthreatening as possible."
The EEF is hosting the tribunal at the Field Head Conference Centre, Leeds, on Tuesday, January 31.
