A former head of maths at South Craven School in Cross Hills has been told he may stand trial on sex charges in June.
David Knight, 61, of Ladycroft, Townhead, Kettlewell, faces a series of allegations of sexual assault relating to two girls more than 20 years ago.
Knight -- who is also a former chairman of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament -- had his case mentioned before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday and a provisional trial date of June 5 was fixed.
Knight took early retirement at Christmas 1996 from his post at South Craven School - where he had taught for 21 years - and went part-time as he took up his CND chairmanship.
Judge Roger Scott renewed Knight's unconditional bail yesterday and told him he would have to return to crown court on March 31 for a plea and case management hearing.
