Dean Windass today went on the warpath against his Valley Parade critics.
City's top scorer has had enough of those fans who have been getting on his back this season.
Windass, who netted his 13th goal of the campaign with a thumping header against Swansea, is riled by the boo-boys who want to have a go. And he has decided it is time to make a stand.
"I'm hitting back now because I'm fed up with people moaning at me," he said. "You get used to the criticism and the daft letters but it reaches the point where I've had enough.
"I wouldn't mind if it was constructive but it's just cheap shots saying that I'm over the hill or not worth a place in the side.
"I'd like to ask these people that if I wasn't playing, then who would score the goals? I'm not slagging off our
centre forwards but just stating facts and without my 13 goals we would be bottom of the league.
"I know it's only a small minority but I still can't understand why they do it. Having a go at me all the time doesn't achieve anything."
Windass turned down the chance of a return to the Premiership with Wigan at the start of the season, instead signing a new contract with City. But he admits that the stick has left him questioning that decision.
He added: "I turned down £10,000 a week from Wigan to stay here. You try to stay loyal and do your best for Bradford City and people aren't bothered.
"I could have easily taken the money and maybe every now and then I wish I would have done because I get fed up with people slagging me off. It simply does my head in.
"People jump on the bandwagon and say I should be left out the team because I'm not worth a place.
"I actually asked the manager to do that three weeks ago because the Christmas period was taking its toll - and he refused because he considered me too important a player.
"Then you hear people shouting 'Todd out' which I find absolutely disgraceful. Colin's only got so many players to work with - his hands are tied with the money and Julian Rhodes is doing his very best."
Windass finished joint top of League One with 27 goals last term. But Saturday's equaliser was his first from open play since September.
Windass added: "I miss Nicky Summerbee and I've said that to the manager. When Nicky was playing, all he did was cross the ball and you knew the chances would keep on coming."
l Ben Muirhead will need to go under the knife for a hernia operation. It will keep the winger out for a month.
