Richard Edghill's future as a City player is still up in the air.

Talks are ongoing with the defender, whose contract at Valley Parade expired last week.

Edghill was poised to write off the club after they decided not to take up an option to keep him until the end of the season.

But after a weekend rethink, Edghill is still hoping that a deal can be struck, although the terms of that remain a sticking point.

Meanwhile, Colin Todd has revealed that he dished out a dressing-room rollicking to misfiring wingers Bobby Petta and Ben Muirhead after they made little impact against Swansea.

Both were taken off early in the

second half before City mounted their fightback to grab a point.

"It was evident we were playing with only nine men," said Todd.

"Other people were working their backsides off trying to make things happen with and without the ball but those two didn't have the same

passion and drive.

"I told them at half-time that they were letting everybody down and they've taken that on board. Both know they didn't contribute enough.

"I've persevered with using a

system with two wingers but you've got to have that trust in the two wide men to deliver on a consistent basis.

"The game of football is difficult enough as it is but you can't afford to have two people who don't have that appetite and work rate required.

"I've got no axe to grind and they accepted what I had to say to them.

"But I thought the overall team

performance told you a lot about the players and how much they are striving to get a win.

"We were never dead and buried even when Swansea were on top and showed tremendous character and resolve to come back in that manner."

Owen Morrison, City's other winger, has paid a visit to the National Rehabilitation Centre at Lilleshall for treatment to his on-going hip injury.
