Bradford Park Avenue manager Gary Brook is demanding "same again" from his players as they prepare for the long trip North to Gateshead tomorrow.

Brook looks like opting for the same starting XI - and that means a place on the bench for last Saturday's match-winner Steve Olkesewycz - and no automatic return for regulars Danny Walsh and Brook Newton.

"Danny is available again and Brook, who was under the weather last week, is okay but I had no problem with last week's starters," said Brook.

Avenue won 1-0 at Ashton United in the UniBond President's Cup but have not won in the league for eight matches. In the side were two newcomers - 19-year-old work experience goalkeeper Neil Thompson from Carlisle United and central defender Jason Wray, on a month's loan from Harrogate Town.

"We played really well and I was pleased with the performance - and the new lads.

"But I thought our best player was Tom Agus. You get the same thing from him week in, week out whether he plays central defence or at left back.

"The team that started the game at Ashton will start the game tomorrow - provided we have no problems leading up to kick-off," said Brook.

"Our keeper looked confident. He came for balls and took a lot of pressure off our defenders on corners and set-pieces.

"He also talks to defenders well for a 19-year-old keeper. And if he does collect the ball from corners I want us to break quickly and I think he distributes the ball well.

"I only drop players if I don't think they have given me everything, so these players deserve another chance.

"And Gateshead is a great playing surface so I expect us to pick up three points there.

"But we need to go into the game with the same commitment, spirit and work-rate."

If Avenue do kick-off with the same starting XI, Liam Flynn will continue to forage on the left - a role he relishes.

At Ashton, he set up Oleksewycz for the winning goal late in the game.

Another player hoping for an extended run in the side is Craig Smith, who showed clever touches and a willingness to battle in central midfield. With Walsh waiting to return to the side, it is up to Smith and Damien Dunne to take control of midfield at Gateshead on a surface tailor-made for Avenue's passing game.

Skipper Dean Jones and Wray will once again be the towering influence at the back.
