Twice-a-week gig nights are now being organised at Keighley's CJ's Bar by experienced members of the town's music scene.

Fridays will be Four Star nights with touring bands sharing the bill with local metal, punk, ska and alternative bands.

Emerge nights on Saturdays will allow local bands to perform in an organised environment with their own and other bands' fans.

Fans will usually have to play Emerge nights before progressing to Four Star.

n Kyla Brox's four older siblings had already done time with the Victor Brox Blues Train when she walked on stage aged 12.

With legendary bluesman Victor as a father and an opera singer as a mother it was no surprise she shone.

Now, 13 years and many tours and festival appearances later, Kyla is regarded as Britain's Queen of the Blues.

She has performed and recorded with her band, made up of young veterans of her father's band, for the past five years.

The musicians, who all have their own musical projects, are said to be masters of their instruments.

Kyla's concert at the Spectrum Blues Club, Keighley, next Friday is already sold-out.
