Keighley Cats 58 Warrington Wolves 0 - Keighley were rewarded with a convincing win over Warrington with a great team performance.
Keighley opened the scoring after the first few minutes. Laura Ackroyd fed Sarah Shillito and sent her over the Warrington line. Before Warrington could respond Sara Gatenby handed off would-be tacklers and sailed past them to score a great solo try. Keighley were on a roll and began to break up play. A good attack from Louise Clark and Sam Liddon kept the pressure on.
On the fifth tackle Keira Burns found Loise Clarke who dived over the line.
Amanda Clegg's try was a real 'Power Play' effort with Warrington players being bumped off Cleggy like she was a bumper car.
Warrington could do nothing right and all attempts to break Keighley's line were futile. From the kick off Sara Gatenby left Warrington standing as she scored her second. Saima Hussain was next on the score sheet with a neat side step and change of direction. Gatenby's hat-trick try followed just before the half time whistle. Laura Ackroyd converted all seven trys making the half time score a healthy 42-0.
Warrington left the field at half time with 12 players but at re-start would only field eight. Keighley agreed to drop to eight to continue the match. Tries soon followed from Amanda Clegg, Keira Burns and a fourth from Gatenby. Laura Ackroyd converted two of these tries.
The referee decided Warrington had taken enough punishment and blew the final whistle after 60 minutes
