Dean Windass has told Colin Todd: I'm happy to play in midfield.

The Bantams top scorer dropped back into the middle in the closing stages of the 1-0 loss at Chester-field.

And Todd has not ruled out another switch to midfield in the future.

Windass said: "The gaffer has mentioned it to me and it's not a problem. I signed pro as a central midfielder so it's not a strange position.

"I could just sit in there and be the one who looks for the through passes or, if we were to play in a three, I could be behind the front two. I'll do whatever he wants for the team."

Danny Cadamarteri is suspended for Saturday's home clash with Swansea. But with Steve Schumacher still struggling with an ankle injury, there is a chance Windass could be asked to fill in.

Todd added: "I put Dean there on Saturday because I wanted somebody who could get on the ball. Tom (Kearney) was having an

indifferent time and he knows that himself.

"I will always try certain things. Dean has played there before and is always an option."

Windass is still looking to bolster his scoring tally, which currently stands at 12, three less than this time last year. But his only goals since September have come from the penalty spot.

He added: "There's a problem with the whole team in getting goals. We're not creating as many chances as earlier in the season and it is frustrating."

Meanwhile, Windass will not be contesting his charge from the Football Association even though he has until January 20 to respond.

He faces a fine after being reported for swearing at referee Darren Drysdale after the Brentford game.
