LEAGUE officials have decided it was just not cricket when they received complaints of male nudity at a game at Riddlesden's home ground (writes Bill Marshall).

And, as result, the club has been stripped of its points and relegated to the fourth division of the Craven and District Cricket League.

Raymond Jones, secretary and captain of Gargrave - the visiting team for the game last July, complained to the League about the incidents which occurred during the match.

Mr Jones wrote: "I was scoring when two cars pulled up with several young men in them.

"They appeared to be players as they obviously knew the players and supporters of the Riddlesden club.

"From then on they circled the field of play, shouted and swore continuously and I saw one of them by the river, directly opposite the clubhouse, drop his shorts and expose his genitals towards the players and the clubhouse.

"Chris Flood was our acting captain on the day and when he went out to bat he was subject to some foul-mouthed abuse and when he took guard he saw another individual standing by the sightscreen who dropped his pants and again exposed his genitalia while using his mobile phone.

Four club officials have been fined £50 for failing to co-operate with the league's disciplinary committee. Three unnamed Riddlesden officials have been banned from playing cricket and holding any position within cricket for five years for "bringing the game of cricket into disrepute, by wilful non-compliance with requests for information and a total lack of co-operation and obstructive behaviour during the League committee's investigations.

Two other unnamed people have also been banned from playing cricket for five years.

However, the League has reconsidered a decision to force Riddlesden to start the 2006 season on minus 24 points. That penalty has now been suspended for two years.
