Lee Crooks is wanted by Notts County.
The League Two side have revealed their interest in signing the combative City midfielder, whose contract is up in the summer.
Crooks is out of favour since being sent off after just six minutes at Kidderminster in last month's LDV Vans Trophy defeat.
He completed a three-match ban over Christmas but was left out of the squad on Monday.
Crooks, who has made 53 appearances for the Bantams, played under County boss Gudjon Thordarson for a season at Barnsley, where the Icelander made him skipper.
City are unlikely to block a move for the 27-year-old because it would free up space within the budget for Colin Todd to make a swoop in this month's transfer window.
Todd has said he can only sign a player on a one-in, one-out basis and may look for a right-sided midfielder.
