Dean Windass wants City to use the derby draw at high-flying Huddersfield as a turning point for their season.
Windass believes the Bantams can take real heart from Saturday's 0-0 stalemate at the Galpharm Stadium.
"We can really kick on from here," said the City hitman. "It was a good result and showed there's nothing really between the two teams.
"They are ten points ahead of us at the moment and may be in second but they're no better. We know we've got nothing to fear in this league."
It was the first time Huddersfield had failed to score since losing at Valley Parade in March, a club record of 31 games. And it was their first home blank since City's last visit 11 months ago.
City's fourth clean sheet in the last five league outings was even more remarkable after Colin Todd was plunged into a selection crisis which forced him to change both full backs.
Andrew Taylor called off in the morning with sickness and diarrhoea and Richard Edghill then aggravated his hamstring during the warm-up.
Lewis Emanuel was brought in at left back and Damion Stewart, hauled off inside half an hour last week, was handed a shock chance to redeem himself on the right.
Todd said: "I had picked the team on Wednesday but then everything had to change and we were in all sorts of turmoil. Lewis didn't know until 11am that he was playing and Stewart had no time to think about it.
"I couldn't play Darren Holloway because he wasn't even on the bench but I thought Stewart came through positively. He didn't perform at all last week but he defended well and that will do his confidence good.
"I thought we came out of the game with a lot of credit. The hallmark of our side lately has been that we've looked very solid.
"I'm just slightly disappointed that we couldn't sneak it 1-0. People talk about us as a side capable of scoring goals but we didn't produce the right quality when in good positions."
The closest City came was when defender Mark Bower hit the post with a header.
