Schools' races

In torrential rain, wind, mud the conditions at Bingley Harriers' Schools' Cross-Country in Myrtle Park reminded parents of traditional cross-country races from yesteryear. Despite the weather an amazing 624 actually finished the races in some extremely competitive competitions.

The 10th annual event was contested by 53 schools. The event and the continued young athlete development will benefit Bingley Harriers from the sponsorship from local builder MLC Construction Ltd and a list of age group sponsors.

The race attracted some new schools to the event and some newcomers went home with the prestigious trophies. Reports indicate that the schools and athletes really enjoyed the event and Bingley Harriers have had several enquires from enthusiastic parents who would like their children to become more involved. The results from our event are as follows;

In School Year 5 Girls the winner was Lucy Worrall of Ilkley's Moorfield School.

In School Year 6 Girls second was Ellie Taylor of Addingham Primary. In School Year 6 Boys third was Josh Crane of Ilkley All Saints Primary.

In School Year 11/12/13 Girls third was Eleanor Kitchen of Ilkley GS
