Bolton Woods survived a

late scare to move into the second round of the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup with a 5-4 victory over Battyeford Sports.

It looked set to be a stroll for Woods, finalists last season,

as they eased into a 5-1 lead courtesy of two goals apiece from strikers Andy Howland and Andy Carlton.

But Battyeford refused to go quietly and pulled three goals back after their opponents had gone off the boil.

New signing Richard Longley opened his account and Liam Dolan scored from a free-kick as Oakenshaw won 2-1 against Rawdon, who replied late on to set up a tense finale.

Buttershaw White Star had many of last week's FA Sunday Cup side out of action and a scratch team slumped

7-0 against Wakefield Premier club Thorn Tree.

An upset looked on as Division 2A outfit Bankfoot Lions roared 3-0 ahead after 20 minutes against White Eagles of Division 1B.

Oddfellows Athletic came under plenty of pressure against Hudson but took their chances as Richard Brame and leading scorer Nicky Walker earned a 2-0 win.

Scott Metcalfe, in goal-scoring form all season, suplied all four for Albion Sports Reserves as they won 4-2 at George.

Andy Boltwood edged Beldon Sports in front but Royal Clayton equalised before half-time thanks to an Andy Field-house penalty. The same player then put Clayton in front and Ben Collier completed a 3-1 win.
