Steve Schumacher is facing the axe at Doncaster tomorrow.
Schumacher is yet to rediscover his best form since returning from injury four games ago. And he could pay the price by losing out to Tom Kearney at the Earth Stadium.
Colin Todd said: "One area I've got to look at is my central midfield, where Schumacher hasn't pulled up any trees since he came back."
Kearney started three of the first four games but only once since - in the home win against Chesterfield. Marc Bridge-Wilkinson is still out of
contention with a knee injury.
City are unbeaten in five but have not kept a clean sheet in that run.
Todd added: "You look at our last two away games and we've got to continue to move the ball as well as we can.
"But we also have to be more professional and ruthless in defence."
