Proposals to build a superstore shopping complex in Buttershaw have been given the go ahead from a planning sub-committee. A West Yorkshire County Council sub-committee decided the plans for the complex at Buttershaw Mills on Halifax Road were not in conflict with the county structure plan. The plans include five shops, car parking and residential development. The plans will now be resubmitted to Bradford planning department for approval.

Polish people in Bradford took part in a double-celebration on the weekend. A remembrance service was followed by the opening of a Polish former serviceman's club on Great Horton Road. The opening ceremony was followed by a dance at Church House. More than 400 people attended the service in the afternoon.
