Thirteen-year-old James Bardgett has been selected to represent Yorkshire Schools at rugby league.
James, fromRiddlesden, is a pupil at Rishworth School, Crossflatts and plays with the Cougar Cubs club.
He has already represented West Yorkshire Schools against East Yorkshire, scoring two tries for his team which earned him a place in the full Yorkshire team.
They are to play NorthWest Schools at Castleford Rugby Union club on Saturday, February 7 at 11am.
Later in the month they are to play Lancahisre.
James, who plays at half-back has also won a scholarship to attend the Oakbank Sports College when he completes his middle school studies.
l Fellow Cougar Cub Shane Edward Donnelly has been selected to go for trials with Yorkshire.
Shane, 11, will take part in two trials sessions, the first of which is to be held at Halifax. He is a pupil at Calversyke Middle School.
