Silsden LADIES continued their preparations for joining a league with a well-deserved 4-3 victory over Skipton at Gargrave.
Silsden gave debuts to eight new players and were 3-1 down at half time, but fought back to record their first win over Skipton in three attempts.
Shelley Donahoe gave them the lead in the first minute, but Skipton came back with goals from Tracey Coates, Arron Thompson and Stephanie Chapman.
The second half though saw Rachele Holdsworth swap her goalkeeping shirt for a striker's jersey and led the recovery with two well taken goals.
Shelley Donahoe secured the win with her second of the afternoon, which came minutes after her sister Celine had made a spectacular goal-line clearance. With both teams fielding very young, inexperienced, sides the future looks bright for women's football in the area.
The Silsden side was: Holdsworth, Lowther, C Hall, L Hall, Harrison, C Donahoe, Spragg, S Donahoe, C Hodgson, Ellis, Shone. Subs: Allen, Clarkson.
