Former Great Britain prop Lee Crooks is the new coach of Keighley Cougars.
The 34-year-old ex-Hull, Leeds and Castleford ace has been keen to join the coaching ranks since a knee injury brought his glittering 15-year playing career to an end last summer.
Crooks was being unveiled at a news conference at Cougar Park today and will take charge of the team for Sunday's clash with fellow strugglers Leigh Centurions.
His appointment follows on the heels of Monday's decision to ask John Kain to stand down as head of team affairs after the club lost its first four league games and suffered a crushing Challenge Cup defeat by Wigan.
Kain will stay on at the club however in a full-time position as junior development officer.
