Bradford Bulls were today remaining tight-lipped over growing speculation that they are keen to land dual international centre Allan Bateman.
The 33-year-old was man of the match for Wales in his country's Five Nations win over Scotland at Wembley last weekend, and has a fine pedigree in League after several seasons with Warrington.
Bateman, who also starred on last season's British Lions tour of South Africa, is currently playing for Richmond in the Allied Dunbar Premiership, but they have had a disappointing campaign and are said to be ready to cut their losses by releasing some key players.
Bateman denied talks had already taken place, but was certainly not ruling out a return North.
"I've heard nothing from Bradford, but if anyone wanted me to change back to League, they would have to speak to my club first."
Bulls chairman Chris Caisley has admitted talks with two international three-quarters, and says he expects to hear the outcome at the conclusion of the Five Nations early next month.
