Keighley company HSM Fans has won its first export order - providing two huge extractor fans for a company in Iceland at a cost of £43,000.

The order comes as a direct result of the firm's expertise in furnishing a £30,000 order for the Icelandic company, working as sub-contractors for another British company.

The original three-ton machine is for a fume-scrubbing plant, where it will be joined later this year by the two extra fans from HSM.

Manager Stan Roper says: "We actually made the first for a customer in the south of England and as a result, we now have a direct order for another two."

The family-run company in Luton Street has been going for about 30 years and employs five people.

The new order means that they will be taking on two new staff before they commence work on the next two fans in April.
