Keighley Albion A 50, Prospect Warrirors 0

Albion started this match with the knowledge that victory would guarantee promotion - and they clinched it with style.

After the first ten minutes of resistance from the Barnsly side, Albion got into their stride with Tim Cooper paving the way with a try in the corner. A steady flow of points followed with John Normanton, Danny Seaton, Cooper grabbing a second touchdown and Danny Bowness adding two conversions.

The second half saw little change as Albion stepped up the pressure. Albion gave full debues to half back Dave Sanderson and forward Danny Slater, both are new additions to the Albion ranks and on this showing both will be valuable assets. Simon Bancroft, Sean Crossley, Gary Baxter, Roger Simpson, Dean Condren and Steve Bennet all added further touchdowns with Condren adding three conversions.

This Saturday brings the curtain down on an outstanding season for the Albion youngsters, they are away to Shipley in their final league fixture and victory sees them gain promotion as champions.

l After last week's Keighley Cup semi-final win over Celtic Silsden Park Rangers came down to earth with a hump, losing 44-4 to West Bowling a.

The Silsden side were without five regulars andwere taken to task early in the game with the elements against them.

The visitors adapted well to theheavy conditions to build up an unassailable half time lead.

Silsden had the wind in their favour after the break and finally put some points on the board through Pat Illingworth who socred a powerful try to give a glimmer of hope.

Things didn't get much better for Rangers when stand-in capotain Mark Adams was forcedto retire with an injury. Stand-off Jack Gwilliam was the pick of the bunch for Silsden.

The defeat means that, despite having five games left, Rangers look likely to finish fourth in Division Four have lost too much ground on the top three.

They have a chnace, however, to make amends for a narrow defeat at Rotherham earlier in the season when they meet again, at home, tomorrow (Saturday).
