A French journalist is trying to trace a childhood friend he used to visit at Riddlesden.
Pierre Jules Gaye - known as 'Peppy' - was born at Micklethwaite, near Bingley, and moved abroad when he was a toddler.
He was brought up in Belgium and later France. He now works for the Lyone Republicaine newspaper in Auxerre, 120 miles south-east of Paris.
Peppy, 51, rang the Keighley News this week in the hope we would be able help him find Phillip Leach, who was born in 1947 and lived in Granby Drive, Riddlesden.
He believes Phillip's grandparents lived in Westfield Crescent, Riddlesden. Peppy's grandfather was former Riddlesden coal merchant Edgar Robinson who died in 1971.
Anyone who may be able to help can contact Peppy at 41 Rue-du-24 Aout, 89000, Auxerre, France, or on the internet at: pierre-j-gaye@ipoint.fr
