Queensbury recently signed Gary Shaw from Hudsons, and he wasted no time opening his account as Bury claimed three points with a 5-2 win at East Ward.

The result put paid to any lingering First Division title hopes for East Ward as Shaw grabbed two, but was upstaged by young Mick Naylor, who hit three.

Mark Reynolds and Barry Roberts scored in the second half for the losers. Louis Dyson equalised for Eccleshill United A at home to Thornton, but they found themselves 4-1 down by the break. Darren Holmes (2), Andy Shanks and Alan Elsworth were Thornton's marksmen,

Elsworth completed a hat-trick for Eccleshill as they went down 7-4.

Wibsey improved their position after an unlikely win at home to Lilycroft. Wibsey played with ten men and came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 with a last-minute winner from Steve Tillotson. Jason and Gary Powell had earlier levelled the game.

Ventus United gained a welcome 4-1 win after trailing 1-0 at half-time at home to Sandy Lane. Keith Turner crowed a superb display with two goals, and Ralph Foxcroft and Richard Smith hit the others.

East Bowling Unity have won five on the trot, scoring 20 goals in the process, and it is just a pity they couldn't have found form a little earlier, otherwise they would have been challenging for the title.

Scott Stirk, Craig Handby, John Kilner and Chris Jeng gave them a comfortable 4-0 win against Bradford Moor.

Brown Cow Wyke scored a late winner through Craig Boldy to beat Bolton Woods 1-0 and guarantee their place in the top flight for next season.

Delvers maintained their unbeaten record in Division 1B as Neil Nolson grabbed a hat-trick and Charlie Hainsworth netted two more in the 5-0 rout of Eccleshill Ring o'Bells. Delvers remain third behind Wrose Albion and Milestone.

Wrose stay top after a 5-1 victory against White Eagles. They missed a penalty and then went behind before Chris Hizzett (2), and Kevin Attenborough (2) saw them through.

Albion will surely be overhauled by Delvers and also by Milestone, who stay second. Rob Harrison was a double scorer and Mark Dewar, Andy Moulden and Peter Sewell had Milestones 5-0 in front before Royal Oak hit back. Jason Ryan rounded off a 6-1 win.

Thornbury kept their 100 per cent record intact and took a step nearer the Division 3A title by beating nearest rivals Dudley Hill Rangers 3-1.

Bobby Doyle opened the scoring for Thornbury in the second half and Mark Booth made it 2-0. Doyle then missed a penalty against his old club, but did add a second to confirm the win, despite a late reply from Brian Walker.

Red Lion were never headed as they lifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a 5-4 win against Bold Privateer.

Andy King (2), man of the match Christian Bloom, Ian Butterfield and an own goal were enough for Lion, Neil Musgrave, Paul Toulmin, Neil Jones and Lee Cocksedge replying.

Westwood are just a point away from the Division 2B championship after a win at Chellow.

Danny Marsden's shot cannoned off team-mate Gavin Summers to equalise after Chellow had taken the lead, but Chellow were in front again 2-1 by half-time.

Dave Ward equalised this time and Lee Innes and Ward's penalty made it 4-2 to Westwood.

Horton Grange led 2-0 and 3-2, but still ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 result. Jonathan Ratcliffe (2) and Carl Bartley had given Horton the advantage, but they committed defensive suicide and conceded the winner to Lord Clyde's Danny Lawler in the last minute.
