Midfield player Shaun Murray who has been linked with a move to Third Division Cardiff today insisted that he does not want to leave Bradford City.
Murray, 27, who joined City from Scarborough in a £100,000 deal almost four years ago, said: "If the club offered me a new contract I would be happy to stay, but they have not offered me anything yet."
Cardiff boss Frank Burrows was Murray's manager at Portsmouth six years ago and knows his capabilities.
There could be a deal before the transfer deadline a week on Thursday, but if there is not Murray will become a free agent in the summer.
Under the new Bosman ruling a player who is 24 or over and out of contract is free to leave his club without a fee.
Murray, who signed a one year contract last summer after playing for a season on a week to week contract, said: "I am upset that the impression has been given that I want to leave Bradford, but that isn't the case. I am happy to stay, but that is not down to me, it is down to the club. I have got a house in Bradford and my family are happy here and I would like to stay, but only if I am wanted.
"I have been on the bench in the last five matches and I am trying to win back my place in the starting line up, but all you can do is your best when you come on as a substitute."
Central defender Darren Moore is hoping to make his long awaited comeback in tomorrow's reserve match at Shrewsbury.
Moore, who has played only 78 minutes of football in the last three months, was back in full training yesterday.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "He looks very rusty, but it was nice to see him in training again. We would like to see him playing at Shrewsbury, but we will have to wait and see how he is later today.
Moore, who has made a great impression in his first season at Valley Parade since joining City from Doncaster last summer, has had two serious injuries in the last three months.
First, a hamstring injury kept him out of action for six matches either side of Christmas.
Then, in his comeback match against Swindon at Valley Parade on January 24 he had to retire 12 minutes from the end with an abductor muscle injury.
He was due to return to action in the reserves at Rotherham two weeks ago, but he wasn't ready.
Now Moore hopes there will be no new setbacks.
