Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, have been chosen to run an England and Wales Cricket Board-backed pilot video scheme.

They will have the use of equipment worth around £4,000 at all of their Headingley matches .

The Statsmaster video editing system will give county coaches the chance to put together at the press of a button any sequences of a day's play which they wish to see and it is seen as being a valuable guide to correcting technical faults in batsmen and bowlers.

Yorkshire director of coaching, Martyn Moxon, said: "We expressed an interest in being part of a pilot scheme this season with equipment provided by the ECB and were chosen."

Now the club are looking for somebody to operate the equipment.

Anyone interested should either write to Moxon at Headingley or contact the club offices on 0113-278-7394.

Former Yorkshire player Jamie Hood is on a life support machine in a Cape Town hospital after being paralysed from the neck down in a car accident.

Saltburn-born Hood, 21, who is a graduate of the Yorkshire Academy ,was on the fringe of a first team place until leaving Yorkshire towards the end of last season and signing a contract with Nottinghamshire.

Hood had a spell playing for Pudsey Congs in the Bradford League until leaving early last season.

The Yorkshire players, currently preparing to leave for South Africa, will visit him during their stay, if he is not flown home.
