Phoenix came away from Ardsley with a well earned point after their 1-1 draw.
Ardsley played the better football early in the game and got their reward minutes before the break. Phoenix did have chances, with Ross going close early on, but manager Paul Ettenfield inspired his team as they produced superb football in the second half.
A long throw from Stuart Hudson found Martin Ross who lobbed the ball over the keeper from 25 yards. Minutes later a push in the Ardsley penalty area gave Phoenix the chance of a winner but the keeper saved Ross' penalty.
League leaders Phoenix are at home to second placed Greetland this Saturday.
l Two goals from Darren Maddocks gave Phoenix 2nds a 2-1 win over Bowling FC, keeping them in touch with the race for promotion to Division three.
