ST ANNES CELTIC continued their great start to the Inter-League cup, the competition arranged for teams in the Wharfedale Premier Division and Division 1A of the Bradford Sunday Alliance.
Celtic won 7-3 at Nags '94 to make it two out of two in Group A. Ryan Hook put Celtic two up, but Nags rallied through Andy Sunter (2) and Nigel Jowett to take the lead. Rob Henson equalised and in the second half Ben McCormack, Roy Mason, rob Hanson and Paul Driver found the net for St Annes.
Other results were- Group A: Silsden 5, Greengates Albion 2. Group B: Crown 96 3, Sandy Lane 3; Druids Arms 7, Clayton Orient 0; Fountain 2, Calverley Victoria 5.
Keighley Juniors and Boltmakers Arms will have to do it all again in the semi-final of the Keighley FA Sunday Cup . They drew 3-3 after extra-time and will replay on March 29.
Victoria Hotel stole a march on rivals Royal FC by taking three Second division points off them and going top. Spencer Harrison gave Royal the lead with a first half free-kick, but Vics came storming back with goals from Dave Greenwood, Peter Sherry and Bob Morrisroe to win 3-1.
Marcus Drake scored for Red Lion, but they lost 2-1 at home to Ring o Bells.
Silsden's Bridge Inn drew 1-1 with JPL FC in Division Three, the real action is taking place at the top where Allerton Fleece took a step nearer the title with a 3-1 victory over a much improved Shipley Bells team. Shipley had conceded 13 goals in their last run out against the leaders, but only let in goals from Paul Gough, Nigel Foster and Jamie Shooter this time.
Woodend Rovers are almost certain to finish runners-up now after a 4-3 win at Ravenscliffe Celtic, Gavin Collins (2), Chris Riley and a last minute penalty from Colin Mavin secured the win with Wayne Potter, Tony Llambrou and John Kilkenny replying.
Baildon New Inn and Kings 94 meet on sunday to decide the First Division championship, both won 4-2 last week, Danny Bagshaw, Vinny Novis, Willard Gono and Simon Collins scored for Kings at Broadford Plant. Graham Julian (2) and John Barbour netted a treble at Cricketers Arms who led 2-1 but couldn't hold off a baildon side who also scored through Mick Brearley and must win the game this Sunday to make sure of the title.
Branch failed to make the semi-final of the Cookson cup as they were beaten 6-3 in a replay by Wilson Transport. Mark Woodhead (2), Waheed Suleiman (2), Paul Cuthbert and Mazofar Iqbal got the goals for the winners who now meet Allerton Fleece for a place in the final.
Awaiting the winners of that game are Springfield United who beat Bradford Celtic 3-1 in their semi-final. Paul Smith netted for Celtic but United were not to be denied and Craig Blessington struck twice and Rob Dunn made sure.
