Hundreds of Keighley people are to be asked their views on how the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) is improving the town.
Up to 450 households will answer questions on issues such as education, employment, crime, litter and how they feel about living in Keighley.
The ambitious survey next month could enable Keighley people to find jobs in the growing market research industry. Marketing UK, the company carrying out the survey, will enlist 12 local people to train as interviewers for the three-week investigation. Some will speak two or more languages, and following the survey will be well-placed to meet a shortage of bilingual interviewers.
Anyone wishing to be interviewed for the jobs should go to the SRB office at 66 North Street today or early next week.
Andy Mudd, chairman of the SRB partnership board, is pleased that the survey itself will achieve the SRB's primary aim of creating jobs. He says: "We need to know clearly what people think about SRB and the impact it's making. The survey will help us know how well we're raising consciousness. This is a good use of our money - we get the research done and we train people along the way for a skilful line of work."
