Winger Peter Beagrie, above, is struggling to be fit to face his old club Manchester City on Saturday.

The talented wideman missed the Bantams' 3-1 defeat at Tranmere Rovers due to a hamstring injury but was hoping to be fit to face the relegation-threatened Blues.

Beagrie returned to training yesterday but said he suffered a reaction while trying to sprint and says his chances of making Saturday's game are limited.

It is a further injury blow for City after defender Darren Moore (abductor muscle) and joint top scorer Edinho (hamstring) were both substituted during Monday night's reserve game with Sheffield United after suffering a slight reaction to their respective injuries.

Beagrie said: "It feels dodgy. I tried sprinting in training and it was just no good. It went in the first five minutes of the game against Birmingham, when I shouldn't have really tried to play because I had felt it on the Thursday before. In training I couldn't open up at all.

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond is also urging fans to buy their tickets for Saturday's clash with the Blues as soon as possible. Manchester City have sold their full allocation of 3,600 tickets for a game which could prove vital to their survival hopes.

The Bantams chief said: "A lot of people leave it until Saturday before purchasing their tickets from the club but I must stress that I anticipate there not being a seat left by then."
