Skipton Bulldogs kept on course for a league and cup double in the Craven Football League when they had a 2-0 victory over Embsay in their Premier League Cup Quarter-Final.
It was a close game with the breaks going the way of Bulldogs who now meet Cross Hills at home in their semi-final on April 4, the other semi between Addingham and Oxenhope being at Addingham this Saturday.
In the Division Three League Cup Skipton LMS completed their programme with a 2-1 victory over Addingham and have amassed eight points, but they will have to wait to see if they reach the semis as Addingham and Cononley both have to visit Grindleton and both have to win to qualify for the semis as they have superior goal differences to LMS. Should either lose or draw then LMS would qualify.
Division Two League Cup semi-final qualifiers could be resolved this Saturday, with wins for West Bradford and Barrowford seeing them qualify, their opponents being Bronte Wanderers and Hellifield.
In the top match in the Skipton Building Society Premier Division Oxenhope entertained Keighley in a game both needed to win for vital title points, and Oxenhope won 4-3 to open up a two-point lead at the top. But Keighley although dropping vital points are still the key side in the race for the title.
Other matches saw Addingham defeat Skipton Town 5-0 and Cross Hills defeat Haworth 3-0.
Interest in Division One was at the bottom end where Grassington moved above Carleton after defeating Rolls-Royce 5-3, Carleton losing 3-1 at home to St Pauls. Grassington are now a point clear of Carleton but Carleton have a match in hand. Keighley languish on the bottom, three points adrift with only two matches left.
In Division Two Hellifield closed the gap on Haworth to three points after defeating Barrowford 3-2 and with two matches in hand now look favourites for the title.
West Bradford dropped a point in a 1-1 draw with Bronte Wanderers and though they have two matches in hand on Haworth they are five points behind and their promotion hopes are fading.
Wharfedale Gate, who went down to Clitheroe 6-0, stay firmly rooted on the bottom, while Barnoldswick United dropped two vital points, losing 3-0 to Embsay, a team they defeated in the cup the previous week.
There was only one match in Division Three, Grindleton losing 3-2 at home to Intake, leaving Intake clear of relegation.
Division Four has new leaders in Sutton, who trounced Bradley 9-0 to move two points clear at the top and significantly improve their goal difference, although St Pauls now have a match in hand.
Other winners were Lothersdale who beat Settle 6-2 and Silsden who beat Skipton Town 8-0.
As well as the Premier League Cup Semi this Saturday there is also a Division One League Cup Semi with Bradley entertaining Rimington, and the small pitch could be an advantage to Bradley for Rimington's flowing football could be contained on it as Silsden found to their cost.
