Bradford City travel to Norwich City tomorrow with manager Paul Jewell desperate for his side to improve their wretched away record - the third worst in the First Division.

But their plans have been hit by the suspension of tough-tackling midfielder Nigel Pepper and a mounting injury crisis which has seen Jamie Lawrence, Rob Steiner, on-loan Lee Sinnott and Shaun Murray miss training this week.

The Bantams have collected just five points from their last 13 games away from home and only 15 all season. Only Reading (14) and Bury (13) have earned less points on their travels.

Manager Paul Jewell admits his side's away results are "a cause for concern" but remains confident his side can deepen the Canaries' relegation worries.

He said: "People inside football are always scratching their head as to why away form is so different to home form. It is something we are trying to put right by instilling some belief in the players.

"The results have been very disappointing. Our home results have been a lot better even though some of the performances away from home have often been a lot better.

"You only have to look back to Wolves, Ipswich, West Brom or the second half at Sheffield United to see how well we can play on our travels. We could have won all four of these games and yet we earned just one point.

"The only places we haven't performed were at Stoke, when we were average, and the second half at Tranmere when we were awful."

The Bantams will be backed by a sizeable following tomorrow due to the club's offer of free travel to the first 1,000 fans to buy tickets from Valley Parade.

"That will be great. I apologised for that performance at Tranmere two weeks ago so it will be nice to give the travelling supporters something to cheer about," said Jewell.

"On their day Norwich can beat anyone but that clearly hasn't happened enough this year. I want every one of our games to be cup finals.

"We had their game with Oxford watched last week and they weren't great and didn't create much. But they are fighting for their lives down there so it will be tough."
