Great Britain ace Alan Hunte has pledged his future to Hull dashing a further move by Bradford Bulls coach Matthew Elliott to boost his depleted squad.
The champions were in the running for Hunte's signature when he left St Helens in the close season and have been monitoring his situation at the Boulevard where Hull are struggling to make the grade in Super League.
Hunte was reported to be unsettled and complaining of poor service but he said today: "I have a two-year contract and I am not a quitter. I will be honouring it."
Hunte also confirmed that his agent had been contacted by an interested club although he declined to name it.
Elliott said: "I openly admit I would love to have Alan Hunte here but there have been no developments. I would be very interested if they decided to move him on but that has to come from them."
Meanwhile Elliott has made an unsuccessful attempt to clear a place on his overseas quota.
His latest move to strengthen squad follows the loss of Aussie centre Danny Peacock for the rest of the season with knee ligament trouble.
Elliott admitted: "I did ask the League if a special case could be made in instances like Danny's which would have allowed us to cover for him with another overseas player on a short term contract.
"My argument was that they would surely prefer us to recruit from overseas than to weaken another Super League club by signing one of their best players."
North Sydney's utility back Greg Florimo is another suggested target with next season in mind but Elliott was non-committal on a player also interesting Wigan.
The 31-year-old, who was a Kangaroo tourist in 1994, is locked in new contract talks with his Aussie club but has so far failed to agree a deal.
The Bulls injury problems continue to mount ahead of Friday's crunch clash with Wigan at Odsal. James Lowes is still doubtful while Shaun Edwards' chances of playing against his former club are rated at no more than 50-50. Matt Calland (hamstring) and Tahi Reihana (shoulder) are also causing concern.
