DIVER Lucy Hurst has been crowned British Champion for the second year.
Lucy, 14, from Haworth, won gold in the high board class of the 14-15 girls section and also took silver in the 1m spring board class. She just missed out on a medal on the 3m board, but put up a superb performance in the synchro-diving classes with Emma Teather of Harrogate, who is also a member of the Leeds club.
Together they took gold in the 3m Synchro event and Silver in the high board synchro competition.
The results, in the National diving championships held at Crystal Palace in London and are the highlight of the season so far.
Lucy, a pupil at Skipton girls high school also hopes her success will earn a place at the Junior European Championships, but Britain may not send a team this year as they concentrate resources on the senior squad which will be travelling to the Commonwealth Games.
