A van used to deliver around 125 meals a week to the elderly has been stolen.
The Suzuki vehicle, one of four operated by Keighley's Meals on Wheels service, covered the Oakworth area. The £4,000 van - reg no L203 JCX - was taken from outside the Prince Street, Haworth, home of a volunteer.
Meals on Wheels organiser Susan Gledhill says the service, which provides a lifeline to many elderly people, works to a tight budget and such thefts put a huge strain on resources.
She says: "Whoever has taken it cannot have any feelings for others. The van is extremely distinctive. It was prominently marked with details of our service."
Police are seeking two men who unsuccessfully tried to steal a car parked in Hain-worth Wood Road, Keighley, in the early hours of Sunday.
The first man is described as white, about 6ft 1in and of slim build. He was wearing an army-style camouflage jacket and a baseball cap. The second man was also wearing a baseball cap. A burglar took a long-case clock from a house in Murdoch Street, Worth Village, on Sun-day evening and escaped in a waiting car.
He is described as white, about 5ft 9in, of medium build, with dark collar-length hair. The car driver was about 30 years old, of stocky build, with dark hair and a goatee beard.
A man was assaulted in Towngate, Keighley, early last Friday after leaving a nightclub. He received injuries to his nose and ribs after being attacked by three men, all of Asian appearance and in their mid to late teens.
A would-be burglar fled empty-handed when he disturbed the occupier while trying to break into a house at Lees Bank Road, Cross Roads last Thursday evening. The man was about 6ft and wearing a grey jogging top, trousers, and a black woolly hat.
Police believe he may have driven off in a Toyota van.
