Organisers of a charity garden party are appealing for help to run a public announcement system.
''We need someone who has a mini-sound system who can act as master of ceremonies,'' says David Wood, who is helping to organise the Manorlands Garden Party at Oxenhope on Sunday, July 19. He stresses the job is not demanding and involves announcing the various events and keeping the public informed.
The charity is also on the look-out for people who can help with the five Saturday flag days throughout June. Anyone who can help should telephone 01274 573752 and speak to Mr Wood or David Gott.
Following the success of previous years, the garden plant sale will be held again at Manorlands this Sunday, from 11am-3pm.
Supported by local nurseries the plant sale features bedding plants, perennials, shrubs and Alpines. A large selection of tubs and baskets will also be on sale.
In conjunction with the plant sale there will also be the first Manorlands craft fair. Stalls will include water colour paintings, salt dough, discounted books, and knitwear. Refreshments and cakes will be on sale on the day. Volunteers are needed for light gardening work as well as helping out on the day.
